Hi there! I’m Sara, a 34-year-old, mom of two. When I was young, I remember being late to the dinner table because I was wrapping up a sketch of a bedroom I designed in one of many composition notebooks. Not much has changed, although now I make the dinner, and I’ve graduated from lined notebooks to sketchbooks.
As a single-income household, on a teacher’s salary in Northern Virginia no less, I’ve had to learn how to stretch a dollar. My designs and decor are vintage or thrifted items I’ve found over the years. I love knowing that they had a history before me, and my family and I are adding to it.
This blog is a creative outlet for me. One where I combine two of my favorite worlds- teaching and decorating- to share tips and tricks in making your home feel like home, even on a minimal budget.
I’ll be sharing some of my favorite decorative pieces. Those that I’ve found in stores, and those I use in my own home. I hope to inspire you to try something new and create a space that makes you feel, truly, at home.
